Bio
An old school No. 9 is our Lia Tweedie.
Currently in her second spell at Hibernian, Tweedie has come on leaps and bounds after arriving back at the club.
She made her first team debut for the Hibees aged 16 but unfortunately suffered through injury hell early in her career. Despite scoring some vital goals and integrating well with her teammates at a young age, she signed for Hearts in September 2020.
She re-signed for Hibernian in 2022, and immediately went out on loan to SWPL2 side Queen’s Park to gain vital first team minutes. A successful half a season later and she was back in contention at Hibs. She scored her first goal upon her return against Glasgow Women.
In 2023/24, she played an important role during our season run-in. Scoring twice from off the bench, her volley against Hearts in the final Edinburgh Derby of the season capped off a superb 2-0 victory at Meadowbank. The effort was subsequently voted as the club’s 2023/24 Goal of The Season at the annual Player of The Year Awards.
