The wee Hibees did their CAS U18 Elite title challenge no harm with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Queen’s Park on Friday night.

It was goals galore at HTC on Friday as Darren McGregor’s side put seven past Queen’s Park.

Logan Jimenez netted a hat-trick, Dean Cleland bagged a brace whilst Zach Bruce and Josh McDonald were also on target as the young Hibees showed a clinical edge in front of goal.

Dean Cleland got the Hibees up and running after 15 minutes after he powered home Owen Calder’s cross with a bullet header.

Dean turned provider for the second goal, running from the halfway line before unselfishly squaring it to Logan Jimenez to tap into an empty net.

Five minutes into the second half, Josh McDonald curled home a fantastic solo effort with his left foot – leaving the Queen’s Park goalkeeper no chance.

The goals kept coming in the second period, with Logan Jimenez heading home McDonald’s corner in what was a well-worked set-piece routine.

Zach Bruce showed great footwork and trickery in the penalty area before firing home from an acute angle to add our fifth of the evening.

Jimenez completed his hat-trick midway inside the second half – capitalising on a rebound from the goalkeeper and finishing with aplomb.

We added our seventh goal of the evening just a minute later, working the ball from back to front before Dean Cleland raced onto a ball over the top and smashed home his effort off the crossbar to complete the rout.

The win means we stay second in the CAS Elite U18 League – two points behind Rangers with eight games left to play.
