The wee Hibees continued their impressive winning streak with a resounding 7-2 victory over Kilmarnock on Friday (4 April).

Dean Cleland bagged another hat-trick, Logan Jimenez scored twice with Rory Whittaker and Lewis Gillie also on target at HTC.

The Hibees had to do things the hard way after going a goal behind inside five minutes after a powerful header from inside the six-yard box.

We didn’t take long to get back on level terms however, with Logan Jimenez nodding home a header of his own on 12 minutes – the first of four headers scored by the Hibees on the night.

The visitors retook the lead minutes later – this time from a set-piece with a close-range volley from inside the six-yard box.

Rory Whittaker headed home from a corner to pull the Hibees back level, before turning provider for our third goal on the stroke of half time. The right-back did well to pick out Dean Cleland in the six-yard box who made no mistake with his header to give us a slender advantage at the break.

The second half was all one-way traffic. Lewis Gillie continued the theme of headed goals with a clever flick at the front post to turn in Jamie McMurdo’s set-piece.

Jimenez got his second of the match after showing great perseverance to latch onto a long ball over before calmly slotting the ball home when through one-on-one.

Cleland added his second and the Hibees' sixth of the night with a well-placed volley following some excellent work on the right-hand side by Josh McDonald.

A minute later, he completed his hat-trick thanks to a brilliant assist from goalkeeper, Ryan Mallon. The Hibs ‘keeper spotted the run of Cleland and found him with a perfectly placed kick – with the Hibs striker slotting home for his third of the match, putting the icing on the cake of an emphatic victory.
