A self-assured Hibernian side would seal a first Edinburgh Derby victory of the season at Tynecastle Park.
Rosie Livingstone fired home late in the second half to ensure Hibs reclaimed the Capital Cup in dramatic fashion.
Grant Scott made a sole change to the side that reached the semi-finals of the Sky Sports Cup last week after an impressive 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle at Petershill Park.
Abbie Ferguson replaced Michaela McAlonie in midfield, as Poppy Lawson captained Hibs in the second derby clash of the campaign.

A powerful effort from Kathleen McGovern rose well above the bar to give Rachael Johnstone her first warning shot of the afternoon, before a two quick counter attacks from Hearts were both cleared away to safety.
With both teams on equal footing, McGovern had another effort thwarted. Linzi Taylor then fired an effort into the palms of Johnstone after a bright Ferguson run resulted in a brilliant opportunity to open the scoring from the edge of the area shortly after 15 minutes.
Despite looking fired up, and ready to add to her remarkable 17 goals in the last 13 games, it would prove to be an unlucky half for McGovern. A powerful header from our number 10 was goalbound but promptly deflected away due to a ricochet in a congested box after a brilliantly floated corner from Ciara Grant.

A solid first-half from Linzi Taylor allowed the midfielder to burst forward with energy after the break. Her header just a minute after the restart was a positive beginning to the second 45. The midfielder also set up McGovern brilliantly for another deflected effort, before Taylor swung an ambitious volley narrowly wide once more from 25 yards.
30 minutes devoid of goalmouth action ensued following the bright start to the second half, with neither side unable to break down one another's backlines. Substitutes were made from both sides in an attempt to sway the game in their favour.
Livingstone was brought on just shy of the hour mark and, come 76 minutes and in need of a minor boost of energy, Grant Scott rolled the dice once more and brought on club captain Rachael Boyle, speedy winger Mya Christie and in-form forward Eilidh Adams.
The substitutes changed the game and it would be Livingstone who fired home the eventual winner on 82 minutes. A mazy run from nimble full-back Papadopoulos saw her float past a trio of Hearts players before unleashing a low shot that landed fortunately at the feet of Livingstone.

Taking her touch well, Livingstone looked up and fired low past Johnstone to score her second goal of the season and silence the home support.
Desperately searching for a later equaliser, Jackie Richards attempted to rifle one through the legs of a resolute Hibs defence but Erin Clachers saved low to deny the substitute's effort.
With the victory, Hibs move up to fourth in the ScottishPower Women's Premier League and pick up their first Edinburgh Derby win of the 2024/25 season.
