Club captain Joelle Murray has expressed her pride at reaching 500 first-team appearances for Hibernian following our league meeting with Rangers.

Ellis Notley and Poppy Lawson also reached major milestones for the club as the league leaders scored two late goals to clinch all three points at Broadwood.

"It’s obviously a proud moment for me," the skipper told Hibs TV.

"It’s hard to think about the 500th appearance after putting in so much effort and coming away with nothing today.

"But ultimately I am proud. I’m always proud to wear the badge, so to do it 500 times is a huge privilege and honour of mine."

On the performance, Murray was keen to take away the positives from a game that saw Hibs lead for the majority of the tie.

"Can’t fault the effort from the girls today. I thought we implemented the game plan very well.

"At times it wasn’t pretty but when you come up against a quality team like Rangers, you try to nullify the threats that they pose. We done that very well, as you could see them getting frustrated.

"I think when you do play top teams, you need to adapt and adjust. I thought we done that defensively, we still showed we are creative and we expressed ourselves well on the ball."

Looking further ahead, Murray is confident - though not complacent - regarding the upcoming Edinburgh Derby on Friday 12th April at Oriam.

"We know the threat that Hearts possess but we need to control what we can control.

"If we put in a defensive effort like we showed today — the hard work, the resilience — and if we just add the creativeness and clinical finishing in the final third I think we will do well.

"That's not to discredit Hearts at all, because it always a competitive game when we meet each other."
