Hibernian FC and Heart of Midlothian FC are pleased to confirm that the remaining two Edinburgh Derbies will be played on Friday evenings at Oriam and Meadowbank!
The decision to change the dates and venues of the SWPL Edinburgh Derbies was made with the aim of enhancing the overall experience for players and fans alike. By shifting the matches from Sunday to Friday evenings, supporters will have the opportunity to kick-start their weekends with SWPL action.
This change in schedule also allows for greater attendance, as fans can now plan their weekends around these much-anticipated clashes.
With a rich history and a passionate fan base, the Edinburgh Derbies have always been a highlight of the SWPL season. Following on from two successful fixtures at Tynecastle and Easter Road earlier in the 23/24 season with over 11,500 fans attending, both Clubs are now keen to trial Friday night football.
