The 21-year-old signed a deal until the summer of 2026 with the Hibees, who beat off competition for his signature from a number of clubs in England.
When speaking to Hibs TV after putting pen-to-paper, he detailed why he was adamant he wanted to join Hibs.
“It (the move) was very, very quick and I’m delighted to be here,” said the midfielder.
“When I got the text about all the clubs interested in me, Hibs really stood out for me, then it was just tunnel vision; Hibs, Hibs, Hibs.
“The philosophy of the Club stood out to me, the fans – I love the atmosphere they create – and it’s something I wanted to be a part of.”
Prior to his medical and on his arrival at HTC, the youngster sat down with Nick Montgomery to discuss the move. He gave us an insight into that conversation.
“The gaffer explained what he expects from me and what the team is like. It allowed me to dig into his ethos and philosophy.
“He spoke to me about young players and how he likes to develop them, and that stuck in my mind. I want to play as many games as possible and develop.
“He wants to create something here and that matches my ambitions. I hope we can do good things here.”
Moriah-Welsh got his first taste of senior football last season at Newport County in the fourth-tier of English football, an experience that really benefitted him.
“It shaped me as a person and as a man. I had good times and tough times there.
“There was a top group of lads, a good manager, and it was a nice city. It was a privilege to be there, to play games, and that’s made me the player I am today.”
But what is he like as a player?
“I like to score goals, get assists, play forward, tackle; I enjoy both sides of the game as a midfielder.
"I want to do everything possible to get results and win games.”
