On Tuesday 9 January, 2024, our players will travel to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for the training camp before travelling home the following Tuesday (16 January, 2024).

Due to the climate, it allows Nick Montgomery and his coaching staff extra time on the training pitch with the players, essentially providing them with the same time and facilities as a summer training camp.

Alongside the extra time on the pitches, there will also be behind-closed-doors matches to get valuable minutes into the players’ legs, especially those coming back from long-term injuries.

As the training camp will be behind-closed-doors, there will be limited coverage and updates coming out from Dubai.

On the winter break, Hibernian FC Head Coach Nick Montgomery said: “The break has come at a good time for us as we essentially had nine players unavailable for our game against Motherwell; five injured and four on international duty.

“I include Harry McKirdy within that number as his inclusion on the bench was accelerated, two weeks ahead of schedule, due to the number of players we had missing for that game. This week is vital for him and some of the other long-term injured players to return to full team training.

“This period is vital to ensure we’re ready for the second part of the season.”
