We can confirm that Jacob Blaney has joined cinch League Two side East Fife on loan for the rest of the 2023/24 campaign.
This is the 19-year-old’s second loan move away from Hibs after he spent the latter end of last season on loan at Stenhousemuir in the fourth-tier of Scottish football, unfortunately that was cut short due to a shoulder injury.
Blaney, a centre-half by trade, progressed through the Hibernian FC Academy and made his debut for the Club on the final day of the 2021/22 season against St Johnstone at Easter Road.
He’s been a regular for the Hibernian Development Squad this season, alongside training with the Hibs First Team, and shone in the UEFA Youth League run last season scoring Borussia Dortmund.
The youngster will now join up with fellow teammate Robbie Hamilton at East Fife for the remainder of the campaign.
Managed by Dick Campbell, the Fifers sit fifth in cinch League 2 with 30 points from 26 games.
Hibernian FC Academy Director Gareth Evans commented: “This is a good opportunity for Jacob to go out and play at a really competitive level.
“At his age it’s really important for him to play against men, and I look forward to seeing how this loan aids his development.”
