Our Head Coach has a number of options to choose from before the visit of St Mirren on Saturday, with seven new faces coming into the Club.

Three of those came on Deadline Day, and when speaking to Hibs TV ahead of this match, he detailed how pleased he was with the overall window.

“It’s been a real busy period,” said Montgomery. “The window started quite quiet, but I worked hard with the recruitment department and the staff to look at the targets we wanted to bring in. We had to be patient and it all came in the last week or two of the window.

“I’m really happy with the quality of players we’ve brought in. We’ve brought them in from big clubs and every player comes with their own circumstances. Some because they need game-time and want to play for Hibs, a couple of permanents too that are long-term projects.

“It’s been a really important window for us to re-build the squad and create competition for places. Every player that’s left the Club has left on good terms for their own reasons as well.

“We’re happy with where we are at. I’m looking forward to getting some of the boys back from injury and international duty. I think the squad is as healthy as it has been all season.”

Those new faces will be looking to help the Hibees get back to winning ways this weekend when they take on St Mirren at Easter Road.

The Paisley side currently sit two places and three points ahead of Hibs in the league table, although Montgomery’s side do have a game in hand.

“Every game is a big game,” said our Head Coach. “We’ve played them a few times before and know they’re well organised. We expect them to come with a game-plan, but it’s about us and making sure we approach the game the right way.

“We’re at home, at Easter Road, in-front of our fans, and we want to put on a performance. Hopefully we will have a good crowd tomorrow and people will be looking forward to seeing the new additions to the squad.”
