Hibernian put seven past Aberdeen to pick up all three points in our first home game of the 2024/25 season.
Tegan Bowie, Eilidh Adams and Kathleen McGovern all grabbed two goals apiece, while full-back Stacey Papadopoulos netted her first goal for the club.
Grant Scott made one change to his starting line-up following last weekend's away win over Partick Thistle, with Ellis Notley coming in for fellow vice-captain Poppy Lawson.
The Hibees would dominate the opening stages of the match and would find the breakthrough in the 11th minute. Abbie Ferguson would aim towards goal and, after a number of ricochets, Bowie would strike low to open the scoring.
The girls continued to press forward following the opener. Kathleen McGovern would nearly open her Hibernian account with an acute shot, with Stacey Papadopoulos also coming close after bursting forward.
After half an hour, Hibernian would find a deserved second. A smart, low corner from Ciara Grant rolled towards Papadopoulos on the edge of the area, allowing our number 5 to rifle a powerful strike into the bottom corner.
Half-time would arrive, with Hibs firmly in control and two goals to the good.
Hibs would have a third - and a second for Bowie - after the restart. After the ball fell neatly in her path, the winger would blast an effort past Aberdeen goalkeeper Megan Sidey to increase the scoreline further.
After a brief, but personally agonising wait, McGovern would finally score her first Hibs goal from the penalty spot after Maddie Finnie was penalised for handball. Despite Sidey getting a touch, the ball would nestle into the bottom corner.
The scoreline would increase even further, as young ace Eilidh Adams notched her first of the season. A well-worked team effort saw Mya Christie float a cross into the area which McGovern headed into the path of the substitute striker, who swept home to score our fifth of the afternoon.
A sixth would follow shortly after, with McGovern poking home her second of the afternoon with a sweet touch and finish from inside the box.
Adams would become the third Hibee to grab a brace. While under intense pressure from our number nine, Sidey hurriedly cleared the ball off Adams' back and could only watch despairingly as the ball slowly rolled over the line.
That seventh goal would cap off a terrific victory for the Hibs, who continued their fine start to the new season.
