The game takes place tomorrow (Tuesday 19 September, 2023) at the Tony Macaroni Arena, kicking off at 2pm.
Our youngsters have been drawn in a group with Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle, Queen’s Park, and Livingston.
Clubs will play each other once and the winner of each group will progress to the semi-finals. The runners-up in Hibs’ group will also qualify for the semi-finals.
Guillaume Beuzelin’s youngsters come into this one off the back of a defeat to Welsh Premier League side TNS (The New Saints) in the SPFL Trust Trophy. Despite defeat, the game it was a fantastic one for the development of our young players as they took on the senior side that competed in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds this season.
They have also played one cinch Reserve game this season, falling to a 3-1 defeat to Queen’s Park.
Our sides in the cinch Reserve League and Cup this season will largely be made up of our Under-18s as a high volume of our younger players are experiencing regular senior football out on loan, which will have a huge impact of their development.
