The 16-year-old striker has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.

Like fellow Under-18 teammate Rory Whittaker, Landers impressed Head Coach Nick Montgomery with his performances in the Club’s Academy and has since gone on to make his First Team debut this season.

The youngster made his first senior appearance coming off the bench against Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup Semi-Final at Hampden, and also featured against St Mirren in the cinch Premiership earlier in November.

A striker with an eye for goal, Landers joined the Hibernian FC Academy aged 10 and has progressed through the youth ranks quickly. He scored his first goal for the Under-18s aged 14 and featured in the UEFA Youth League last season against Nantes and Molde aged 15.

Alongside this, he’s scored plenty of goals for the Club’s Under-18s and Development Squad over the last two seasons.

Josh’s development also caught the eye of the Scotland youth set-up, as he now has eight caps for their Under-16s.

Hibernian FC Academy Director, Gareth Evans commented: “We’re all delighted for Josh. I’m sure this is a very proud moment for him and his family.

“It’s always great to see a young player progress through the Academy age groups and make their debut for the First Team. The real challenge for Josh now is to keep that hunger and desire to develop and to push for more opportunities with the First Team set-up.”
