Speaking to Hibs TV after collecting his award, Kanayo reflected on a memorable year.
“It has been an amazing year for me. Playing in the UEFA Youth League was a great experience for us all, that was a new experience for everyone – it was brilliant for us all to come together and gel as a group.
“This award means a lot to me. There are a lot of talented players in the Academy, so for me to win it is a nice reward for what I have done this season and the hard work I have put in personally.”

Kanayo joined the Club in September 2021 after a successful trial period and is now eagerly looking ahead to his future with the Club.
“Hibs have been so welcoming to me. Since I came on trial, I have felt at home. I have never felt isolated and this club just means a lot to me.
“Going forward, I am hoping to stay here and push my way into the First Team and in the future the plan is to win trophies with Hibs!”
