Last month, we announced the signing of Brooke Nunn to Hibernian FC on an eighteen-month contract. Brooke joined up with her new teammates this week ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie against Spartans.

Speaking on signing for Hibernian, our new number 28 said: “It feels amazing. Hibs has such a great history behind it. This is a very ambitious club and I’m grateful to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get started and continue to grow and build with the team.”

Nunn joined Hibernian from Turkish Women’s Super League side, Altay S.K Women, she said it was a ‘different’ experience playing in Turkey. “It wasn’t my first option, but it was definitely a character-building experience! It was different. I grew a lot as a person and a footballer, and it was good to play at the top league.”

Brooke explained when she was made aware of Dean Gibson’s interest in bringing her to the club. “It was around November times when I was looking to carry on my football career somewhere different. I spoke to Dean over a video call, where he showed me a presentation of the club and its growth. It really interested me, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”

Having previously played for the London City Lionesses back in 2021, Brooke played alongside former Hibs full-back, Jamie-Lee Napier, we asked if Jamie-Lee had any influence on Brooke joining the club. “I didn’t speak to her ahead of the move, but once she found out she was over the moon. She always spoke highly of Hibs as she spent part of her journey here! Luckily, I spent a lot of time with her at London City so I’m able to understand the accent a wee bit, but she was really pleased for me and told me all the top spots to visit in Scotland.”

Brooke has spent the week training with the squad, Nunn mentioned the welcoming nature of the group and looks ahead to her first experience of Scottish football.

“They have been brilliant. Everyone’s been so warm and welcoming and have made me feel right at home. I am looking forward to the new challenge it will bring. I’m excited to learn new styles of play and also different cultures.”
