The 29-year-old had been training with Lee Johnson and his team over the past week as he underwent a trial period with the Club after being released by Fleetwood Town.
During that week Devlin impressed and put pen-to-paper on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.
When speaking to Hibs TV after signing, he explained his delight on securing the move.
“A couple of weeks ago I didn’t quite anticipate getting an opportunity from a club like Hibs.
“Over the last week or so I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in training and I’m absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to be at a club like Hibs. I’m delighted.
“The last week has been great. I actually feel like I’ve been enjoying my football again, which is quite refreshing, having left Fleetwood a few weeks prior to that.
“Because I know a few of the boys, and I’ve played against a lot of them, it made it that much easier to settle in. There’s a good group here, guys like Chris Cadden, so in terms of integrating with the squad it’s been great, and I enjoy coming in every day.”

During the trial Lee Johnson admitted it was a time for the Club to look at Devlin, but also the defender to look at the Club. He explained what it was like to be involved with the Hibees on the training pitch.
“You see early on when you’re in the training sessions here that the standard is very high. The standards that the manager has set are being met by the players and the players are driving each other on.
“There’s good competition for places in the squad, I think that’s what the manager is trying to get and what a club like Hibs needs to compete at the top end of the table.
“From day one the quality has been evident, and the coaching has been brilliant. All the coaches have their input, the demands are there, and everyone knows his philosophy and how he’s trying to do things.
“I’ve loved every day at training, I know I’ve still got work to do to get myself up to speed and hit my own standards. I’ve loved every aspect of being in so far.”
The 29-year-old has now set his sights firmly on repaying the Club for the faith put in him.
“All I can ask is the opportunity, which Hibs and the manager has given me. I can try and repay that by being available for selection and then when given an opportunity by being reliable and doing my job the best I can.
“I have to take responsibility for my own performance, have the highest of standards and be ready to contribute when called upon. I’ve been given this opportunity and I have to do my talking on the pitch.”
