“I think the performance was just as important as the result. We wanted energy, to get the ball in the box a lot, and suffocate the game when we didn’t have the ball, I think we did all of them. The one thing, if I’m being critical of was to see a little bit more desire to get on the end of crosses, but we controlled the game and managed to rotate the squad. It’s a good day all round.’’
The manager was also impressed with how his substitutes handled themselves in the second half, as Lia Tweedie and Rachael Boyle scored on their first appearances for the club this season.
“Tweedie has deserved to get back on the pitch for us. She’s worked very hard and is brilliant around the group. She’s worked her way back as a Hibs player and it’s a credit to her that she’s done that.’’
“To bring someone off the bench like Rachael Boyle is unbelievable, but we want to get her back to being allowed to play ninety minutes. You saw the start of that process today.’’

An away day against Rangers at Broadwood is next up on the agenda, and Gibson admitted that his side will have to be at their best if they are to take anything away from Thursday’s game.
“Rangers are a top side, a quality side. We’ve played them twice, in one game where we thought we performed well in, and another where we had no chance of winning it. We know we’re going to have to be at the top of our game and play to a top level, if we do that well give ourselves a chance - anything less than that will be a long night.
“We’ve had a brilliant start to the year. We’ve had one small blip, but we’ve closed the gap on fourth place, we’ve overtaken their goal difference, in were in a good place so we’ll go to Rangers full of confidence.’’
