This new deal will see “Smally” remain a Hibs player at least until 2025. We are very excited to have a player of Rachael’s quality as part of the playing squad for the coming seasons, as we continue to build for the future.

An integral part to our success on the pitch since arriving from Aberdeen in 2016, Rachael has had a fantastic career in Edinburgh thus far, winning numerous domestic cups and featuring regularly in international camps.

Technically excellent, a natural leader and a massively popular figure in the dressing room, players, staff, and fans alike will be delighted to see Rachael continue to represent the Hibees for the next few seasons.

Rachael has been out of action for a few months now due to pregnancy, with Baby Boyle due in the next couple of weeks. As a club, we are committed to providing Rachael, Martin and their family with as much support as possible throughout the coming months and will be ready to facilitate a return to the pitch when the time comes.

Hibs Women Manager, Dean Gibson commented on Rachael's new deal, saying: “Getting Smally re-signed on a long-term contract is a big statement from the club. It’s no secret how highly both myself and the club think of her not only as a player, but also as a person. As a player I would argue she’s the best player in the league. Her experience on top of her ability is priceless. She is an international football player and one we have missed a lot since January."

"Smally is naturally the next captain for this club, to have her and Joelle within the squad is huge. When we finally get her back within the group, it’s only going make us stronger!"

"Until then, we hope the last couple of weeks of her pregnancy goes smoothly. Once the baby has arrived, we will do all we can to support her and when she feels ready, start the process of getting her back on the pitch."

Boyle also spoke about extending her stay at the club: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal. I always knew when I fell pregnant, that I wanted to come back to football and to Hibs. I feel that I still have something to contribute to the team when I return to full fitness."

"Hibs have always been a family orientated club since I’ve been here and that’s why it was an easy decision for me to prolong my stay here!"
