That win continues The Wee Hibees unbeaten run in the 2021/22 campaign.
Both sides started the game off slowly, with the home side dominating the ball for the majority of the opening exchanges.
It took until the 20-minute-mark for us to start playing our natural attacking game. Murray Aiken and Robbie Hamilton combined in the middle of the park before the ball was worked wide to Josh O'Connor
Josh played a wonderful return ball to Aiken who got his shot off from just inside the 18-yard box - forcing an impressive save from Accies goalkeeper, Cameron May.
Another really good chance then fell for the Wee Hibees when Kanayo Megwa sent an impressive through ball to O’Connor who did well to nutmeg the defender, however unluckily, his effort was equally met by the Hamilton goalkeeper.
With just over half an hour gone, Murray Aiken drove with the ball from midfield, passing to Hamilton who returned the ball to Aiken just on the edge of the box. Aiken drove into the box and was brought down by an Accies defender to win his side a penalty.
Josh O’Connor stepped up to take the spot-kick and he calmly slotted it away to the goalkeeper's left to put the Wee Hibees in front.

Right before the interval, Jacob Blaney had an exceptional chance to extend the team’s lead. Connor Young played the ball in from a free-kick and Blaney’s volley went inches wide of the post.
After the interval, Hibs certainly started the second half playing better than they did the first.
Hibs had a penalty appeal early in the second half. Josh O'Connor was involved again, his effort from close range and looked to strike the hand of a Hamilton defender, however, the referee disagreed.
With just over an hour gone, Blaney’s shot from a free-kick was saved well by the Hamilton keeper as it looked to be curling into the bottom corner.
The Wee Hibees got that crucial second goal when Murray Aiken’s long-range effort somehow found its way into the net. Megwa did well on the left-hand side to pick the ball up and drive into the box. He then tried to cut the ball back for one of his teammates, however, after a bit of pinball in the penalty area, the ball fell to Aiken who made no mistake and doubled our advantage.
Josh O’Connor was unlucky not to add a third when his strike struck the underside of the bar and bounced back out of the goal.
The game began to fizzle out in the closing stages as the Wee Hibees closed the game out very professionally, securing another win for Gareth Evans' side.
Up next, Kilmarnock at HTC on Friday 25 February.
