The 28-year-old has agreed a contract extension which will see her remain at the club until the summer of 2025.

‘Shiv’ first represented Hibernian at Under-13s level and has since worked her way up through the ranks.

The defender graduated from the Hibernian Girls Academy in 2012 and has been part of the first team ever since. Siobhan has made over 250 appearances for the club to date.

Alongside her ability on the pitch, Siobhan Hunter is a born winner and a well-respected character in the dressing room.

After signing a new deal, Siobhan said: “I’m delighted to sign a long-term deal, it’s a huge step for my career. When I was younger it was a dream for me to play for this club and now being able to do that on full-time basis as my job. It’s a dream come true.”

Dean Gibson commented saying “Shiv signing a new contract is a huge bit of business for the club. She’s a player with a lot of experience in this league but also still has a good few years ahead of her.”

“For her personally, I’m delighted. She’s a been at the club a long time so I’m glad the club can reward her loyalty with a bit of our own. From a playing perspective she’s coming to the peak years of her career, so we are yet to see the best Shiv and hopefully that’s we see over the next few seasons. Building for more than 12 months at a time is now the aim at Hibs I truly believe the best way of success is through consistency, so getting the core of the group here for the next few seasons will set us up well, moving forward.”

“We have a young squad and players like Siobhan will only help these players on and off the pitch. She takes good ownership of that already, offering advice to some of the younger ones. All in, having her around for the next couple of years is brilliant for both parties.”
