THE LOWDOWN

The Hibees head to The SMiSA Stadium for a cinch Premiership clash with St Mirren; 3pm kick-off on Saturday 27 August.

The team are looking to build on the weekend's 2-2 draw with Rangers at Easter Road. The Hibees showed their resilience to come from behind twice to earn a point in what was a frantic encounter.

Josh Campbell's injury-time strike continued the trend of late drama this season - it is the third time we have scored in the 90th minute or later in our opening four cinch Premiership matches.

The result means we currently sit 8th in the table on five points, one point behind this weekend's opponents, St Mirren.

THE HOSTS

The Buddies come into this match after recording back-to-back victories in the cinch Premiership - beating Dundee United (3-0) and Ross County (1-0) in as many weeks.

That means Stephen Robinson's side currently sit 7th on six points, having lost their first two matches to Aberdeen and Motherwell respectively.

One player to watch is St Mirren no.10 Curtis Main. The striker bagged a brace against Dundee United turning the game on its head with two quickfire goals either side of half time.

Hibernian FC supporters will also recognise former Hibee, Alex Gogic. The Cypriot, who spent two seasons with Hibs from 2020-2022, recently signed permanently with St Mirren after enjoying a loan spell with the Paisley outfit during the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

HEAD TO HEAD

Last season, we had mixed fortunes against The Buddies - winning once, losing once and drawing twice in our four meetings.

The last time the two sides met was in the post-split fixtures in April of this year. Ewan Henderson scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory overseen by Caretaker Manager David Gray.

Our away record against St Mirren is a positive one, winning six times in our last seven visits to Paisley - dating back to September 2018.

TEAM NEWS

There are no fresh injury concerns following the weekend. Elias Melkersen missed out against Rangers and will be assessed ahead of this weekend's fixture.

Longer-term absentees include Kyle Magennis, Kevin Nisbet, Demetri Mitchell, and Aiden McGeady.
