The first chance of the match fell Celtic’s way in the first minute as a header from Wellings glanced just wide of Gabby English’s goal.

Celtic won the first corner of the match following a block from Joelle Murray inside the box.

The ensuing delivery was played short, but no real chance could be created following som good defending from Hibs.

There was a stoppage in play around the 10 th minute following a head collision between Colette Cavanagh and Alexa Coyle. Thankfully, after a few minutes, both players were able to play on.

The opening 45 minutes of the match were very tight with both sides defending well and no clear-cut chances to be seen from either side.

Celtic came out of the blocks at the second half with a lot of intensity and struck the Hibs crossbar within the opening two minutes of the second half. A let-off for Hibs.

The hosts won their second corner of the match in the 50 th minute after some good build-up play down the right. This time Celtic decided to deliver the corner straight into the box which was met by the head of Murray who cleared the danger for Hibs.

Leah Eddie tried her luck with a shot from third yards out, but her shot flew just over Johnstone’s goal.

Celtic found the opener in the 67th minute. The ball came to the Harkes on the edge of the box as she controlled the ball and volleyed the shot home. There was nothing English could about a strike of that quality.

Hibs responded fantastically to going behind and found their equaliser in the 79th thanks to an excellent strike from Cavanagh. Cavanagh found herself in space outside of Celtic’s box and struck the ball from 30 yards out past Johnstone in the net. A fantastic strike to get Hibs back into the match.

Following Hibs’ equaliser, the game became more open and both sides started to create a few half-chances.

There was a tense moment for Hibs as Celtic won a freekick from 30 yards out in the 90th minute. The ball was delivered into the Hibs box and but was cleared away by Coyle.

Celtic found the winner in the 91st minute through Wellings who struck the ball into the top corner in from the right-wing.

This proved to be one of the final actions of the match as the referee blew the whistle shortly after.
