Throughout pre-season, Ross has had to deal with a number of different difficulties whether that be small knocks to players, Covid, or players picking up longer-term injuries.
But now, as we head into our first competitive game of the 2021/22 campaign, there’s only four players aren’t available to him.
“We are pretty much as we were for Raith Rovers, so we are still without Jamie Murphy, Chris Cadden who has a longer-term injury now, Sean Mackie who also has longer-term injury, and Jake Doyle-Hayes. Jake returned to training today, but Thursday evening is too soon for him.”
There was a boost, though, in our last pre-season game as Christian Doidge was back on the pitch for the first time this summer.
The Welshman joined up with his teammates late after suffering badly from Covid but managed 30 minutes in our last pre-season outing.
“Josh Doig and Christian Doidge will be in the squad but are working their way back to full fitness,” explained Ross.
“We’ve had a little bit of disruption, but the ones that have been on the pitch have been terrific to date.”
